The difference spent a year in England, a country of first world. I went to study a master because it is recognized as one of the countries with better quality of life, culture and much deeper level of study.
I found an incredibly beautiful country but, like all politicians from right and left corrupt and unpopular, serious discrimination problems, with terrible economic depression, with the highest unemployment rate in decades, with migration issues, with murders and theft. A country with absurd laws, facing a war against enemies that he helped create, with inequality, steeped in individualism and relativity.
That is, a country that in many ways resembles Mexico.
say that and people often ask me, then what is the main difference between Mexico and England? And I say: first, the concept of homeland. Second, the concept of work.
me explain: First, the English are people who are proud to be English. Not only in the world or national celebrations. They feel obliged to his homeland. Want to contribute to the country and do not sit around waiting for it to give them everything.
Votan and feel, but above all, participate in their local communities and promote culture in its colonies. It is a country that, locally, is managed and powered by people, not by the political elite or by the royal family.
pay their taxes, do not give or ask for bite, talk and argue among themselves and then take a cup of tea.
never heard an English (and met many) to speak ill of the government or their country in general in front of me. Then one of them told me they do not usually speak ill of his country to foreigners, so they are a developed country, clean and cheerful.
Do you know what causes that? More tourism, more investment and more pride.
Second, the English work, a lot. Appreciate the importance of work, paid good wages and working full time. They are not trying scrubbed each other. The companies operate, people feel safe in their jobs and the employer is happy with its employees.
Do you know what causes that? More development, more satisfying y. .. more pride.
Then I went back to Mexico. A country, like all politicians from right and left corrupt and unpopular, with terrible economic depression, with serious problems of discrimination and migration, with murders and robberies. A country with absurd laws, which currently faces a war against enemies that he helped create. A country with poverty and inequality.
However, I have just a month and I'm sick that all are complaining all the time and always speaking ill of my country. That people think that this is an underdeveloped country is engaged to strike and make stupid comments about how bad everything is, what the ruler is inept in turn, on how bad they are TV shows.
I am tired of the taxi driver, tour guide and all who care for visitors to do more than complain about how bad is the situation. Do not they know that tourism and foreign investment are the two main tools for development of the country? I despair that this country is steeped in intolerance and pessimism.
Mexico is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Any European would die to have such amazing beaches, as boundless wealth, a rich variety. Do not we realize our own rich cultural, historical and, above all, human?
The country has the highest GDP in its history, inflation that our parents could not dream of a growing private investment and infrastructure that is not much worse than the first world.
If you believe that Mexico is worse than ever, ask your parents what it was worth their vote or their savings, which were the roads, how many were studying for college or high school 40 years ago.
I'm no fool. I know we have problems, many serious, rampant crime is one of them. But we must know that we are neither the only nor, by far the worst. Today, Mexico is better than ever in many aspects, and must continue to grow.
So I ask only one thing: think twice when you speak ill of your country. Between joke and joke, you're going to end up believing, and then your friends, your colleagues, your community, your country. And then the world. Comment
, scream, do whatever you want. But above all, work and feel proud to live in a country where people care, the food is delicious, the culture is mixed, churches are full, the beaches are warm, the mountains are majestic, families are united and the weather is phenomenal.
I wish they could say that the English!

The same goes for the Brazilians, they do not talk much about the evils of their country. Brazil has a crime rate, murder, more than Mexico has. Excluding Juarez, Rio de Janeiro has a death rate far greater violence to any Mexican citizen. But they speak well of their country, how good they are doing.
something similar also happens in the U.S.. Every day, in large U.S. cities are gang shootings. But these notes do not go nationwide. Only in the local media in each city. Only when a shooting where innocent people die as which quite often go shopping centers, schools, or the last where the congresswoman injured in Arizona, go beyond national media and abroad. But doing a search on Google with the words "shooting" or "gun shoots" and the name of every large city in the U.S. comes out all information.
not mean that Mexico is well or better than UK or U.S.. Obviously not. But we are not in hell. If the situation does not improve, if it continues to worsen, if we get there. But it also has a lot to the attitude of us all. There is much good news every day, only emphasize the negative media to sell more. And we, the consumers of news, ask. It is a vicious circle. I'm not saying we close our eyes to reality. Violence and crime are there, are not going to go look elsewhere. But you have 360-degree view in all directions, not focused on one point only.
So I think it is wrong to suspect that the 35 thousand deaths in the last 4 years are charged only the federal government. The government did not kill them, the vast majority are deaths among the criminal groups themselves. If the government is responsible to stop this wave of violence, minimize it. But it can be culpable for the deaths. They are responsible for all levels of government, federal, state and municipal as well as the 3 branches, executive, legislative and judicial. And finally we are also responsible citizens. The state is formed by all. And the perpetrators are criminals. Why they are not convicted?
